The X1's fixed ELMARIT lens and 12.2-meg sensor give pro-quality results from a device that looks like something the Aga Khan would have been snapping stallions with way back in 1964. It's capable of shooting 12.9-megapixels with an almost 3D like depth and the build quality is outstandingly stylish and lightweight.

The Leica’s heritage is unimpeachable and this is the height of understated-to-the-point-of-ascetic elegance. Though the fixed lens and the whooping price perhaps detract from its all-round greatness.
