Keep your life connected with rolling hotspots
Advertorial
With major technology innovation at the heart of its designs, Ford is pushing the boundaries of how driving can become more than a simple transition from A to B.

As our lives become increasingly reliant on a multitude of wireless gadgets, it can be irritating to endure countless hours of long drives with no Wi-Fi access to keep them updated.
But thanks to smart and intuitive Ford technology, the problem will soon be a thing of the past, as SYNC Wi-Fi allows up to five wireless connections on the move, keeping your smartphone, tablet or games console connected and active throughout the journey.
SYNC Wi-Fi works by connecting a USB dongle or smartphone (provided you’ve got internet tethering enabled by your network) and beaming the signal around the car to create a rolling hotspot wherever there’s a data connection.
By using a USB slot to connect up your device, Ford has dispensed with the need for specific sockets for each piece of equipment, making it simple to keep your life connected on the go.
And there’s no need to worry about unknown device ‘piggybacking’ on the network, as the driver has to authorise each new device before connection, with a randomly generated password helping to keep things secure.
The new SYNC Wi-Fi technology is due to debut on the Ford Focus in 2012, making a Wi-Fi hotspot available to everyone so they can enjoy more peaceful journeys.
