Finalist Asus Eee Pad Transformer

For those not ready to leave netbooks behind, the Asus Transformer (TF101) merges tablet and the pint-sized PC via an optional keyboard docking station.

Price: £429 | Asus

Running on Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the Transformer is built around a 10.1-inch touchscreen and Nvidia Tegra dualcore processor, delivering slick multitasking and an overall speedier performance.

Pre-installed with Asus’ Polaris Office 3.0, the Transformer supports Office documents including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

What's really smart, though, is the Transformer's full QWERTY keyboard dock, which hosts unique Android Function keys, and also extends your tablet's battery life from 9.5 hours to up to an even more impressive 16 hours. Two USB ports let you expand storage further and attach peripherals.

Supporting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, there’s 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage on board, with one year of unlimited ASUS WebStorage in the cloud, as well as SD and Micro SD cards. The Transformer is a great business device and the iPad's best competitor for the business dollar.
