LG has raised its smartphone game with the launch  of the power-mongering LG Optimus G Pro in the challenge to take on Apple, Samsung and Google, but the demand for the Nexus 4 is perhaps the real success story for LG this year.

In previous years, LG has been all about TVs but the Korean electronics company has made a major push in its smartphone business with the Optimus range serving up a host of desirable handsets we’ve had the pleasure of getting our hands on.

From the Optimus F5 to the flagship Optimus G Pro, LG has really stepped up but its decision to make the Nexus 4 smartphone with Google proved a good move despite its initial struggles to meet the massive demand.

That’s not to say that LG has ignored the TV side of the business with the acquisition of WebOS from HP which will see the operating system loaded into sets next year and its first 4K TVs with the LG 84LM960V a pricey but impressive Ultra HD offering.
