Before Avatar, most viewers were sceptical about the possibilities of the extra dimension. The fleet of new, premium 3D Hollywood releases since Avatar shows that's no longer the case. We also have 3D TVs, 3D laptops, 3D phones and even 3D tablets and while Cameron isn't single-handedly responsible for that, the importance of his drive to reinvigorate interest in 3D can't be underestimated. 

With an even more technically advanced Avatar sequel already in the works, Cameron’s influence will continue for years to come.
