 The 4.3-inch screen incorporates Super AMOLED Plus technology and is of the best smartphone screens ever, even surpassing the iPhone in some ways.

At the heart of the phone is a 1GHz dualcore processor, providing blisteringly fast performance, whether browsing the web, playing games or just swapping between apps.

Running the latest version of Android, Gingerbread, overlaid with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, the S II is a joy to use, with an excellent 8-megapixel/1080p camera that's again as good as any you'll find on a smartphone.

At time of writing, the S II was the best Android phone you could buy. Given the quality of the competition that's some accolade.
