Finalist Motorola Atrix
T3 Tech and Gadgets
The Atrix is capable of so much more than your standard smartphone; it can become a media hub and even a laptop.
Price: £249.99 with contract | Motorola
Boasting the same dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor as the Motorola Xoom tablet, the Android 2.2 handset is incredibly quick, yet lighter than the iPhone 4. It sports a high quality 4-inch, 960×540 screen.
But the USP that’s grabbed the world’s attention is its unprecedented versatility. Put it in the multimedia dock and connect it to a TV or monitor and the Atrix will run a full Firefox browser as well as letting you access apps such as Angry Birds full screen, while three USB ports let you add a keyboard and mouse for emailing. Add Motorola’s Lapdock and the Atrix becomes an 11.6-inch laptop with eight hours of battery life. Could this be a blueprint for all handsets in the future?
The Atrix has already scooped top spot in T3's Hot 100. Is the Gadget of the Year gong next on the list?
