Sony Alpha A33
T3 Tech and Gadgets
Not a digital SLR in its purest sense, Sony’s A33 changes the camera’s mirror mechanism, marking an industry first with Translucent Mirror Technology (SLT).
Price: £499.95 | Sony
By making the mirror translucent, Sony has handed the A33 faster autofocus, a 7fps burst mode and all-round improved response times. Despite its size it weighs in at just 433g, allowing for comfortable periods of prolonged use.
Coming with a 14.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and an 18-55mm kit lens, the Sony A33 supports full-HD 1080p video recording and features a 3-inch, 921,600-dot LCD display that can be flipped through 270-degrees for improved image and video playback, as well as increased framing options.
USB and HDMI mini connection ports allow for simple file transfers whilst the battery offers single-charge longevity of 340 shots when using the display’s Live View mode.
Outstanding picture quality, simple operation and cutting-edge technology make this an outstanding camera.
