Judge: Ryan Block

Ryan Block is co-founder of gdgt, a forthcoming consumer electronics site. He's also former editor (and current editor-at-large) of Engadget, a web magazine and network of sites focused on obsessive coverage of consumer electronics and technology.

As a technology critic and commentator, he's been quoted by the BBC, Business Week, Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Times, and The Wall St. Journal. He has also appeared on such networks as CNN, NPR, PRI, and G4TV and was named one of Forbes’s 2007 Web Celeb 25, one of T3's 50 Most Influential People In Tech in 2008, and for whatever reason, named one of Paper Magazine’s Beautiful People, 2006.

Prior to gdgt and Engadget, he worked in network engineering before returning to his education in writing and philosophy at the New School University in New York. He currently resides in San Francisco, California with his girlfriend and two cats.
